Girls Digital Entrepreneurship and Leadership Academy
Girls Digital Entrepreneurship and Leadership Academy
Problem
Statement Young women in underserved regions face significant barriers to economic empowerment, digital
literacy, and leadership opportunities. This lack of access is compounded by
socio-cultural factors that limit girls exposure to technology and business
education. Without access to digital skills, entrepreneurial resources, or
leadership networks they remain excluded from economic opportunities
and community leadership roles. The existing gap in entrepreneurship and
digital literacy further hampers sustainable development.
Rationale
of the Problem: The digital divide and lack of
entrepreneurial opportunities among girls, young women and person with disability limit their ability
to participate fully in economic and social development. The GDELA project
seeks to address this gap by leveraging peer-to-peer learning, mentorship, and
support networks. This approach will
break the cycle of exclusion and create a sustainable foundation to thrive in the digital economy.
Goal: To empower girls, young women and person with disability through digital entrepreneurship and leadership
training, fostering a network of women leaders who can drive economic and
social change.
Specific
Objectives: 1. Equip young women with digital
literacy and business skills necessary for starting and managing their own
